Rooibos Tea – The Tea of South Africa!
Rooibos tea has expanded from a small herb indigenous to a select region of South Africa, known only to a small group of tribesman, into one of the most consumed and well-known herbs in the world.
Everyone drinks tea once in a while. Tea can be grouped into six categories which are Green Tea, White Tea, Yellow Tea, Red Tea, Black Tea, Oolong Tea, and Pu Erh which all made from the Camellia Sinensis plant. Each category is based on individual quality, taste, tea color, and production as well as processing techniques.

It comes from the plant Aspalathus linearis, rather than the Camellia plants that produce traditional teas, such as Black, Green or Oolong tea. The name Rooibos, an African slang word of Dutch origin meaning "Red Bush." Rooibos tea is a distinctive red colour and its taste is also unique with a very sweet and slightly nutty flavour. |

- Zinc
-Manganese
- Alpha-hydroxy (great for the skin)
- Magnesium

-Calcium

Zero Caffeine - Low Tannin
Rooibos contains no caffeine and has low tannin content. In ordinary tea, tannins are involved in the binding of calcium and iron that makes it difficult for the body to absorb these minerals. In addition, tannins can interfere with the pigmentation of the skin. Therefore, the low tannin content of Rooibos extracts compared to extracts from ordinary green tea makes Rooibos the preferred choice for the application in skin care products.
Rooibos is naturally caffeine-free; it does not have to go through a decaffeination process and, therefore, does not lose any of its essential polyphenol content. It is therefore an excellent drink for people who want to avoid the stimulating effects of caffeine. Because of the low tannin content, it can be a good alternative to ordinary tea for people who need to avoid beverages containing tannin.
